About Sarah

Sarah Lundy

LCSW, LCADC, RYT, EMDR Trained

Sarah Lundy (she/her/ ella), owner of Sarah Lundy, LLC, is a Bilingual (English & Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) in the State of New Jersey. She has been providing counseling services since 2017 and is passionate about working with adult survivors of sexual, domestic, & interpersonal violence, folks in recovery from substance abuse & addiction, folks navigating trauma, anxiety disorders, and folks in the LGBTQ+ community.

Her career began in the field of immigration legal advocacy, where she worked in immigrant and refugee rights agencies in the US and Latin America. She saw the intersections between trauma, oppression, sexual violence, and addiction as well as the systemic barriers that womxn and LGBTQ+ folks faced when seeking support. This led her to pursue clinical work and provide trauma informed counseling in non-profit spaces, sexual and domestic violence prevention programs, and long-term mental health & substance abuse treatment.

As a queer therapist, Sarah believes in the importance of feeling seen and heard for who you are, and that acknowledging your unique identities is essential to your therapeutic experience. She works to uphold cultural humility, respect, and awareness of her own white privilege with all her clients, while remaining actively involved in anti-racist advocacy in the community. She believes that you are the expert of your own life and intends that all the therapeutic work you do together reflects that. Sarah brings a holistic, compassionate and trauma informed approach to every session and holds space for wherever you are, each day. Humor, mindfulness, creativity, person-centered and somatic approaches are all essential to her therapeutic practice. Sarah is a certified Trauma Sensitive Yoga Teacher and Reiki practitioner, and brings movement based and energetic practices into her work with clients whenever possible.

In her spare time, Sarah loves to hike with her dog, play ukulele, practice yoga and dance. She also is co-founder of Sisterwork , which is a womxn-led family mentorship organization that seeks to close the gaps faced by the Latinx community in Central New Jersey through community building, youth leadership and sexual violence prevention.
